1975 - The Eye of the Tiger

William Heinemann published the first British edition, and Doubleday published the first American edition.

William Heinemann reprinted THE EYE OF THE TIGER a few times: in 1983, 1985, 1987, and 1989 for a Uniform Edition.

I used to own numerous signed copies of the first printing of the British first edition, but my last copy is pictured below.

The signature in my copy

I found images of the signed copies below, but they are not in my collection

It is very difficult to find copies without fading to the dust jacket spine. Most often, the spine has faded to a greenish color. The examples of this fading I found on the Internet.

I have owned and sold numerous signed copies of EYE OF THE TIGER. All below are first printings.

Doubleday published its first edition in 1976

Doubleday reprinted its first edition so not all copies are first printings of the first edition.

The copyright page has to state FIRST EDITION IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

I own two copies of the rare Advance Reading copy. One of my copies is even more scarce because Wilbur signed it for me.

I own 1 copy of the American first edition, and Wilbur signed it for me

Below are photos of a rare Uncorrected Proof copy of the Pan-published paperback. Print only on one side of each page, so very thick volume. I sold this book to another collector.
