Eight Years' Wanderings in Ceylon

EIGHT YEARS' WANDERINGS IN CEYLON  is Baker's second published work, and it is extremely rare in original decorative cloth binding

Published in London by Longman, Brown, Green and Longmans, all copies of the first edition have a title-page dated 1855

The first editions have 6 color lithographs not found in later editions

Neither my copy of the first edition in original decorative cloth binding, nor my rebound copy have ads at the end. The first edition held by the University of California has ads at the end dated March 1856.

My copy in original green cloth binding does have ads at the end dated January 1867.

The first American edition was not published until 1869 by J.B. Lippincott in Philadelphia
