1968 - Shout at the Devil

William Heinemann published the first British edition, and Coward-McCann published the first American edition.

William Heinemann reprinted SHOUT AT THE DEVIL numerous times: in 1968 (same year as the first printing), 1974, 1977, 1982, 1987, and 1989 for a Uniform Edition.

I do not own a copy of the exceedingly rare Uncorrected Proof. However, Stephen Donaldson, a fellow collector, does own one, and he provided photos for me. His copy is even more scarce because Wilbur signed it.

I own 4 copies of first printing of the British first edition, and 2 of them are pictured below. Wilbur signed all 4 of my copies.

I found this signed copy on eBay, it is not in my collection

I have owned and sold numerous signed copies of SHOUT AT THE DEVIL. All below are first printings, except the last one designated as a 1983 printing.

1982 reprint

The 1974 reprint below is not as thick and slightly taller than other Heinemann printings, all because it was printed in Finland.

Coward-McCann published its first edition in 1968

Coward-McCann never reprinted its first edition or published any later editions, so all copies are first printings of the first edition.

Below is a card that accompanies one of my copies of the first American edition.

I own 4 copies of the American first edition, 2 of which are pictured below.
